Police are searching for a suspect following the fatal shooting of a boy near a Compton park on Friday.
Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of gunfire on Oris Street near Fig/Oleander Park around 4 p.m.
Emergency responders found the boy wounded by gunfire; he was taken to a hospital but did not survive.
Authorities found no suspects at the scene, and the events leading to the fatal shooting remain unclear. Sky5 captured images of police cordoning off a playground at Fig/Oleander Park, located in a residential area. The suspect has not been identified and remains at large. Investigators have yet to release the boy’s name, age, or a suspect description.
