Thieves Hit Glendale Jewelry Store, Use Blowtorches to Crack Safes

Must read

Thieves struck a Glendale family jewelry store earlier this week, stealing jewelry worth millions in the city’s second heist this week.

The heist at Bidrussian Jewelry happened early Tuesday in Glendale, where suspects disabled surveillance, torched open safes, and trashed the store.

The family believes the theft cost them millions.

Manail Bidrussian inherited the Glendale-based Bidrussian Jewelry, a family-owned shop with more than two decades of history.

Despite having a robust security setup, Bidrussian says the thieves entered through the one part of the store that wasn’t well-fortified.

Earlier Monday, thieves targeted a Simi Valley jewelry store, slipping in via the next-door coffee shop and breaking through eight inches of concrete and the safe to steal millions.

To support repairs, the business has launched a fundraiser. You can help by clicking or tapping here.
