Police announced Monday that a missing girl was recovered during the arrest of a human trafficking suspect in Los Angeles.
The case was launched on April 28, when a 17-year-old from Irvine was reported missing, the Anaheim Police Department stated.
Authorities in Orange County believe the unidentified teen was possibly being trafficked for commercial sex.
A human trafficking investigation was launched as officials worked to find the missing teenager.
On April 29, the day after the report, the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force located the missing girl and her suspected trafficker in Los Angeles.
The suspect, identified as convicted felon Alex Polidore, 23, of Hawthorne, was arrested, though police released limited information about the incident.
Authorities confirmed that on May 1, Polidore was officially charged with human trafficking of a minor by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and is being held on $1 million bail.
