A downtown Los Angeles mural honoring the late Lakers star Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi has been vandalized again—marking the second incident in under two months.
The mural—found at Main Street and West 14th Street—was created by artist Louie “Sloe” Motion following the tragic helicopter crash in January 2020 that claimed the lives of Kobe, Gigi, and seven others.
The first act of vandalism occurred on April 29, when graffiti was spray-painted over much of the mural, which depicts the NBA Hall of Famer kissing his daughter on the head.
A GoFundMe was launched to fund the restoration of the iconic mural, and Lakers standout Luka Dončić—who joined the team in a shocking midseason 2025 trade—covered the entire cost. Work began on April 30 and wrapped up one month later. But within a week of completion, the mural was vandalized once again.
No one has been identified in connection with either act of vandalism, and the artist’s plans to repaint the mural a second time remain uncertain.
