A downtown LA barbershop is repeatedly playing “Baby Shark” to discourage homeless people from camping near its storefront.
On Sunday, Shalom Styles, CEO of Styles Barber Lounge, told KLTA.com about his continued efforts to protect the shop and maintain a welcoming environment for clients.
Another measure Styles mentioned involves security cameras—set up with property management’s help—that sound off when they detect movement.
Styles recounted a recent incident where he asked a nude woman to leave after discovering her sitting naked on a bench outside his shop.
“It was bad, it was an eyesore for business,” said Styles. “She started screaming at the top of her lungs, she kicked her shoes off, threw them and screamed for probably 10 minutes.”
“We can’t have the encampment grow here,” said Styles, talking about the music choice. “It’s annoying for them to do what they’re doing to the business, so I’d rather they just be annoyed.”
