LAPD Officers Conduct Welfare Check, Discover Two Shooting Victims in Encino Home

According to an LAPD official, police conducted a welfare check around 2:30 p.m. Monday at a residence near White Oak Avenue and Ventura Boulevard in Encino. Officers forced entry by breaking a window after spotting blood at the front door, TMZ reported. Inside, they found a man and a woman with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police revealed that a prior radio call on July 10 around 4 p.m. had reported a possible burglary at the couple’s home. Though there were no signs of forced entry, investigators believe the suspect entered through an unlocked door. When the couple returned home and confronted him, the suspect opened fire, killing Robin Kaye and Thomas Delcua at the scene. The suspect, 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, fled on foot and was arrested late Tuesday evening.

American Idol released a statement calling Kaye “a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009” who was “truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her.”
